Please join us at our November 15th Chapter Luncheon with COL Kevin Baird, the Director of Transportation for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), as our speaker. We will also be collecting toys at the luncheon in support of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. Please bring a toy to the luncheon in support of a great cause!
COL Kevin Baird, Director of Transportation (OSD Logistics)
COL Baird will provide an overview of some of the Department's key transportation policies and initiatives. Topics will include the Department's efforts to improve the household goods program and installation access for DoD's contracted commercial motor carriers, the Transportation Directorate's role in the Category Management of Transportation and Logistics Services across the federal government, and the role of commercial partners in supporting military operations.
COL Baird's other assignments have included the FORSCOM & TRADOC Liaison Officer at the Pentagon and Battalion Commander, 53rd Transportation Battalion, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary).
COL Baird holds a BE in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MS in Theater Operations from the School of Advanced Military Studies. He also completed a fellowship at the Centre for International and Defense Policy at Queen's University in Canada.
